Welcome to Summercon.ORG

Summercon is one of the oldest hacker conventions, and the longest running such conference in America. It helped set a precedent for more modern "cons" such as H.O.P.E. and DEF CON, although it has remained smaller and more personal. Summercon has been hosted in cities such as Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Atlanta, New York, Washington, D.C., Austin, Las Vegas, and Amsterdam.

The Schedule is up!

June 14th, 2018

We know how all Summercon attendees like to methodically plan out their Summercon weekend.

So without further delay, here is the Summercon 2018 SCHEDULE!

Almost time!

June 3rd, 2018

A Big Thanks to our Sponsors this year!

We can't do this without you

A little bird told us that these companies are hiring.

Check them out - SPONSORS!

Sold out!

May 5th, 2018 (Updated: June 4th, 2018)

Wow we've got speakers!

With tickets officially sold out - we feel it’s time to trickle out some info on what we’ll actually be presenting this year.

Without further delay - let’s get started!

Who X-Rays the X-Rays – A deeper dive into Medical Device Security

Richard Oak will take us through the state of cyber security in healthcare. Just how well are they prepared for a modern cyber attack?

Hack you a Koober Netty for Great Good!

If making would-be attackers sad is your thing - get ready for this one. Also koober netties! Pretty much enough said right there. Dino Dai Zovi will be our guide on this journey.

Blackhat Ethereum

SummerCon alums Ryan Stortz and Jay Little will be diving into ETH’s smart contract security and demonstrate how to reverse engineer EVM code to identify these vulnerabilities. We’re going to be rich!

Exploiting the Exploiters: Hunting Fraud in Telecom Networks

So you all remember phone hacking right? What if we take that to the next level and then kick it up a notch? Sounds fun right!? Vlad Wolstencroft will be our operator on this one.

The New Hotness – Hunting for Code Similarity at Scale

I mean, we can all get pretty lazy when writing code. But some attackers have hit the ol’ Ctrl+C one too many times. Juan Andres Guerrero-Saade is going to show us some fascinating ways researchers can identify clusters of shared activity.

Reverse Engineering Windows Defender Antivirus

Windows Defender was meant to protect us not annoy us! It's time we took a look under the hood of this antivirius software and see what tools we can use to reverse engineer (and possibly exploit) this system.

This Year in Crypto

Finally we have SummerCon veteran Nick Sullivan @grittygrease returning this year! From theoretical advances in post-quantum cryptography and zero-knowledge proofs, to the discovery of efficient trilinear maps - there's a lot to talk about. It's not magic, it's crypto.

Loud and Clear

March 19th, 2018

Littlefield + Parklife

We've listened and learned: some people want to hear our presentations; others want to drink, be loud, and socialize during presentations. So we've rented adjoining spaces: Littlefield for presentations, and Parklife for loud debauchery. We'll be simulcasting all presentations from Littlefield to Parklife, so you won't miss any of the action, but if you want to actually be able to hear the presentations, Littlefield will be a little less berserk than previous years.

Summercon 2018 Tickets released!

As usual, space is limited.
