summercon 2008 A new tradition of organization (5/30-6/1)

There are several options for food, beer, liquor, boobies, and horny men within a few blocks of the hotel. Below is a list of some places, along with a map.






Wyndham Hotel

This is where the con is. There is a little hotel bar on the main floor near the front door.


Blake's

This rather popular gay bar is located 2 blocks down 10th. It features transvestite fashion shows every night at 11 and bathrooms that read "1 person only".


Vortex Bar and Grill

Where tattoo clad waitresses talk smack to you. Good food, lots of interesting hamburgers, and helluva lot of booze. The 6 page booze menu is here, and 2 pages are devoted to beer.


Taco Mac

This "chicken wings and beer" sports bar is not a taco stand. The plasma TV packed location will be just 6 weeks old when the con rolls through. The booze can be found here, with hundreds of beers listed over 3 pages in very very small print.


Publix

This grocery store has typical grocery store beer, and all the other fixings to keep you alive for a weekend.


Mac's

This beer, wine, and liquor store has probably the 3rd or 4th best selection in the metro Atlanta area. And, you can get kegs here. Keep in mind Gov. Sonny Purdue and the blue laws won't let you return the keg on Sunday, so make other plans if you get a keg.


Cheetah Lounge

The ultra high class titty bar in Atlanta. You may rub shoulders with sports stars and flat out very rich people. Bring the cash, and wear good clothes/shoes.

Jocks and Jills is CLOSED due to a bankruptcy following a sexual harassment case.

The blue and white M is the midtown marta station. It is on the same train line that the airport is. Take the damn train is you fly in to atlanta.
