You've heard the myths, the legends, the calamities, and the catastrophies that are Summercon. If you're wandering what Summercon looks like, check out these links.
Summercon 2007 took place in Atlanta. It was a drunken celebration of hacking, hobos, shoe-throwing, and Southern hospitality.
Summercon 2006 was a small, private event in Las Vegas. It is unlikely that any photographic evidence will be produced to prove that we actually got together, but that's probably for the best. We were (in)appropriately intoxicated and rowdier than Summercon 2007. Alas, no shoes were thrown in the production of Summercon 2006.
The 2005 Summercon left Pittsburgh and found its way to Austin, Texas, and spanned the dates of June 3rd to the 5th. The event was hosted at the Omni Austin Hotel Downtown in a conference room that lacked 802.11 and a bar. There was, however, a bar in the main lobby which stayed open late enough to drink yourself unconcious. The 2005 Schedule was not as packed as the previous 2 held in Pittsburgh.
For the second time, Summercon is hosted at Pittsburgh, in the University Club between June 11th through the 13th in 2004. The people at the University Club was glad to have us back and promised to stock more beer and single malt scotch at the bar next to the conference room. As usual, the staff at the University Club was more than helpful providing the conference room with water, coffee, and ashtrays.
